UTC: Urgent Transformation Crisis

This is Flint’s first appearance since page CCCVI, if you don’t count the dream version of him which showed up in three pages of “Running Cold.” This is the longest absence for a main character in UTC‘s history. (32 pages)

I went back and forth on whether to draw the bird that Flint scares away. I liked the interaction and how it subtly works into the theme of Flint connecting with nature… but all that poor bird wanted was to rest its wings for a little while, and here comes this gigantic squirrel! Flint’s not a bully. I felt a lot better about this scene when I added in Flint’s apology, even though the bird can’t hear or understand him.
