It's a killer

Director's Commentary

Look! Another shirt! I do have a wardrobe!

Constant Homestar Runner references are my new forté. If you don't know who he is, check him out. Homestarrunner.com beyotch.

This is a 100% hand-drawn strip (!) with a West Wing reference. Quote inspired by the "Inauguration Part One" episode. Here's the real quote:

President:  Why does a Kundunese life mean less to me than an American lfe?
Will Bailey:  I don't know sir, but it does.
President:  That was ballsy.
Will Bailey:  Well, I won't be working here long.

I promised good things to the person(s) who could identify what series I was referencing. As I thought, nobody but my roommate had any idea. You people need to watch good TV.

This is indeed the last time you will ever see Pat's head explode. If you'll pardon the pun, that gag has been done to death.

"Death and Taxes" promo

The joke here is that Pat always dies, so it's a no-brainer who's gonna bite the big one. But the real funny part turned out to be the people who actually couldn't figure out who was going to choke. For a time, it wasn't really going to be Pat, but in the end I changed my mind and did the humane thing.

And we're back to the V-neck. Seriously, I don't even like it that much. I just unconsciously draw it most of the time.

This one isn't very funny, but I needed something to provide the set-up. I have a very weird hand.

If you don't watch 24, you have no idea what you're missing.

Notice I actually gave Jon and Alex name tags to tell them apart. Another problem with Alex recognition is that he doesn't appear very often. Sorry, Alex.

Jon actually has an "I Give A Shit Face," and I've seen it many times. Mostly when I talk to him about anime or Star Trek.

This is, regretably, Alex's last appearance in Year One. I have so many friends, yet so little room in the strip...
